BIODEGRADATION

BIODEGRADATION

The HIDROSILO when hydrated in the soil decomposes due to the effect of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms in CO2, water and compounds of ammonia and potassium. Studies carried out with polyacrylate SAPs show a biodegradation rate of 10 to 15% per year. The rate of biodegradation depends on soil conditions, climate, microorganisms, worms and insects present, which may be higher or lower. Other factors such as solar radiation and temperature also end up degrading the polymer.

BIOACCUMULATION

Like all cross-linked polymers, HIDROSILO has molecules of infinite molecular weight, and are not absorbed by the cells of animals or plants, thus not undergoing bioaccumulation.
