HIDROSILO

SOIL APPLICATION

HIDROSILO mixed in the soil stores irrigation and rain water, improves aeration and compaction, allowing plants to better develop the root system and grow faster. As the wilting point of plants takes longer to reach, the frequency of watering is generally reduced by 30-50%. For this, the HIDROSILO should be uniformly mixed with the soil in the amount determined for the water that is to be stored. The amount used must be adequate for each type of soil or substrate regarding the plant’s water needs, characteristics and climatic conditions. The general rule is, the more permeable the soil or substrate, the greater the required amount of HIDROSILO is.

For soil and permeable materials such as straw, pruning residues, wood dust or coconut fiber, the recommended dose is of 1 to 1.5 kg/m³ which allows a storage of 250 to 350 L of water.

For clayey soils and less permeable substrates (peat) the recommended amount is of 0.75 to 1 kg / m³.

Considering that HIDROSILO with tap water of conductivity of 100 to 200 µS/cm has a degree of swelling of 250 times, then for a 100 Liters vase,if desired a humidity rate of 20% or approximately 20L of water, it will be necessary to use 80g of the product mixed evenly with soil. Calculation: 20 L of water or 20.000g / 250 = 80g.
